mission
Our mission is simple: empower and lift youth and adults of every age and level to new heights through acrobatics, dance, fitness, and tumbling. We built Flight Club to be more than a studio - a place where students build and harness their strength, their confidence, and a community that cheers them on.
our story
Flight Club was founded in 2020 - but our time met a world that had other plans. Just as we set out to open our first location, COVID-19 and shelter-in-place policies brought everything to a halt. Kids were stuck at home and needed an outlet for their energy more than ever, so we pivoted: Flight Club Gymnastics began with outdoor programs, meeting families where they were and keeping kids moving through an uncertain time.
From there, we grew through our community. We partnered with dance studios and Wushu dojo across the region - Encore in San Dimas, Dian in Rowland Heights and Alhambra, Fusion in East LA, Wushu Unlimited in Monrovia, and Adage in Pomona - for offsite classes and had thousands of home-based private sessions at students homes, building relationships and a reputation one class at a time. Through it all, having a studio location remained the dream goal.
Now, six years later, that goal is finally a reality. Flight Club Studio is opening its first physical location in Arcadia - our home base for acro, dance, fitness, and tumbling, built for the families who’ve been with us and the many more we can’t wait to meet.
coach julian
Coach Julian is a husband, father, the founder / head coach of Flight Club Gymnastics and Flight Club Studio, USAG certified gymnastics instructor, and fitness coach. Coach Julian has over 20 years of coaching experience working with students in the San Gabriel valley, including at Charter Oak Gymnastics, Club Champion Gymnastics, Payke Gymnastics Academy, Encore Dance Centre, Adage Dance Center, Dian Art Center, and L.A. Country Parks and Recreation dance and cheer programs. Known for his energy and genuine care for every student, he personally helps place each new student in the right class and tailor the instructions with the aim of progressing and keeping students motivated as they grow.
Family is the heart of everything Coach Julian does - he and his wife, Iris, are raising four kids of their own, so he understands firsthand what parents are looking for: a place where children feel safe, challenged, and genuinely excited to show up. That perspective shapes how Flight Club is run, from the coaching on the floor to the welcome you feel at the door. Coach Julian’s heart for youth and community is a legacy passed down from his grandfather, the late Mr. Alton Brooks - a beloved New Britain, Connecticut leader whose lifelong dedication to young people earned him both a street (Alton Brooks Way) and a YMCA youth basketball league in his name. Coach Julian is deeply inspired and influenced by his grandfather and brings to the studio floor the same spirit and dedication to a life of service to young people and the community.
Through Flight Club, Coach Julian is committed to empowering students and lifting youth and adults to new heights through acrobatic and fitness movements.
